  • Session 1: Awareness and assessment

    Date: Monday, September 9, 2019
    Time: Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The session will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    Refreshments: Coffee, tea and pastries and fruit will be served in the morning. A lunch will also be provided.

    Session Focus:  

        • Gain insight into personal and organizational intercultural competence.
        • Learn how cultural beliefs, attitudes and practices influence workplace inclusion through all the stages of employment.
        • Learn how to connect diversity and inclusion to strategic goals for more impactful change.
  • Session 2: Finding and Keeping Talent

    Date: Monday, October 7, 2019

    Time: Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.; the session will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

    Refreshments: Coffee, tea and pastries and fruit will be served in the morning.

    Session focus: 

        • Learn about the best practices and strategies that remove barriers and address bias in the recruitment and selection of immigrant professionals.
        • Explore how to develop a culturally inclusive onboarding process.
        • Discuss why it's important that inclusive workplace behaviours be made explicit and how this can be implemented.


  • Session 3: Communication and Employee Development

    Date: Monday, November 4, 2019

    Time: 12:00 to 1:30 p.m.

    Session focus: 

        • Explore how culture impacts communication in the workplace as well as some intercultural communication skills that you can implement.
        • Learn how to apply culturally competent and inclusive performance management practices.

  • Session 4: Leadership and Diversity Strategy

    Date: Monday, December 2, 2019
    Time: Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.; the session will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    Refreshments: Coffee, tea and pastries and fruit will be served in the morning. A lunch will also be provided.

    Session focus:

        • Learn how leaders and champions who value diversity and inclusion can lead D & I change in the workplace.
        • Discuss how to generate support from others in your organization for diversity and inclusion initiatives.
        • Create a plan to implement a specific diversity and inclusion initiative in your workplace.
